The Most Common COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects

The vaccines for COVID-19 are being dubbed as the key to exiting this pandemic. At the present moment, there are four vaccines which have been approved for emergency use, to turn the tide. These vaccines are the ones produced by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and the single dose by Johnson. A large portion of the local community has already received its first dose of the vaccine with herd immunity anticipated to be reached by June.
In this article, we shall be discussing some of the side effects that have been reported by those who took their COVID-19 vaccine.

Fever
One of the most common symptoms of the vaccines being administered. Through fever, the body shows that it is dealing with a foreign item, that it is not used to. This symptom seems to be more common amongst those who took the AstraZeneca vaccine, with many highlighting that the following night, fever would be a symptom. Such fever may also be accompanied by a strong headache, which for a few hours would make tending to everyday activities difficult.

Other common side effects include fatigue and tiredness. Many people report that for a few hours following the administering of their vaccines, they would not feel their usual selves due to fatigue and tiredness. This is an expected side effect, especially when considering that individuals are being administered with a vaccine to fight off a relatively new disease.

Pain in the area where the vaccine was administered
People have also reported that one of the side effects is frequent pain in the area where the jab was given. In this case, that would be the arm. People have reported that the soreness across the arm could still be felt even after a couple of days since the vaccine was administered.
These common side effects are typically not a cause for alarm and would usually indicate that the immune system is responding appropriately to the vaccine. With that said, data from vaccine trials shows that even those who do not experience side effects are still protected.
