The Latest Developments at Apple

When considering that Apple is the biggest company in the world, it is quite strange to hear about adverse news. Recent developments have captured the concern of investors, who would do well to monitor updates attentively.

Although Apple has recently been recorded as the first company in America to surpass two trillion dollars in market value, it has lost four hundred and fifty billion. This is coupled with decreasing share prices. This is problematic considering the current climate where sales forecasts are indeed conservative and reflect less spending.

Although there are some grim forecasts, the company still seems to be at the forefront of new developments. In the iPhone’s latest operating system, iOS 14, one notices that Apple has introduced a feature that shows search results and subsequent links directing to websites when users type in a query. This is suspected by many, the start of an attempt to rival the Google search engine. Apple is indeed a secretive organisation, however there are many rumours that this is indeed a bid to challenge Google. Apple’s operating system can operate searches without Google!

Just a few years ago, Apple sent for Google’s former head of search, John Giannandrea. The intention of the hire was to improve Apple’s artificial intelligence efforts. With that said, this man had eight years of experience in running Google’s search engine, something Apple benefits from today. No comments have been released by Apple in relation to these rumours.

One can expect that the creation of a search engine to rival Google would take years. With profits expected to surpass fifty-five billion dollars and over eighty billion in cash reserves, the company finds itself in a solid position to make a long-term investment such as this.

In another important development, Apple has launched the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. These include a beautifully new design which is accompanied by innovative features such as the A14 Bionic, an advanced dual-camera system, and a Super Retina XDR display with the Ceramic Shield front cover. These devices are compatible with 5G technology which means that this is indeed a new beginning. The iPhone 12 is available in two sizes, enabling buyers to make a choice which better suits them.

Although times are hard, one would expect that Apple will rebound from this less positive patch. What do you think about the future of this mega company? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
