How to Plan the Perfect Christmas Day

Christmas day has to be one of the best days in the year. A day you would normally spend the majority of at home, indulging in great food and the additional drink here and there. As most of the things in life, good planning leads to excellent results and the same goes for Christmas day. Planning well can help you achieve your perfect Christmas day.

So let’s imagine you are hosting Christmas lunch at your place. Where do you start?

You will need to ensure that you have enough space for all the people coming over. This also includes space for when guests stand up from their seats to mingle around. When that is established, you need to see how you are going to go about cooking and what you will prepare. Most Christmas lunches would include a fully-fledged five course meal, but no pressure all right?

First impressions last, which is why you will need to ensure that you set the right mood and that your home is splendidly decorated. You can always aim to appeal to different senses and fill your home with beautiful scents for the occasion. Make sure to have included in your plan sufficient time for cooking during the day, so best to have the ambience issues addressed beforehand!

What’s a fancy lunch without music? Make sure you have your playlist ready with all the Christmas songs in the background.

So what happens after the big lunch? Are you planning on having some drinks and mulled wine prepared? Would you also consider a Christmas movie? Or opening of presents? The choices are endless and you can have a great time. You could also have a couple of board games to serve as back-up just in case things do not go according to plan.

Make sure to have your liquor cabinet well-stocked. Following lunch and as the day starts progressing into twilight, your guests will undoubtedly target the alcohol to end the year on a high.
