US: If you want to obtain a visa, you will soon have to reveal your social network identity

Your latest Instagram pictures won’t be a secret for Trump’s administration anymore. To apply for a tourist visa in the US, now, you will be asked to reveal your digital identity such as the name of your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc’s accounts. The American’s government will be also asking for your telephone number and e-mail address.
National Security: Trump’s Priority
Promised in March 2018, this immigration policy will concern over 15 million people demanding an American visa each year. “The national security is our absolute priority when we attribute visas. Every traveller and immigrants who want to enter in the American state are subject to deep security controls. We work constantly to find police devices with the aim to protect American citizens while encouraging legitimate trips to the US”, declared the US State Department.

And what about those who don’t have a Digital Identity?
Don’t worry about it. You might be the one without a facebook or twitter accounts. You might be digital free grandparents. Worry not: You will still be able to travel to the US. The government specifies that you will find a case to declare that you do not have social accounts.
If you state that you do not have social media accounts but you are eventually caught lying, be careful, the administration warned that for those who would like to lie or hide about their digital identity will expose themselves to “serious consequences”.
We don’t know yet when the measure will be officially working, but prepare yourself to have Donald watching your last party pictures! Just make sure they are great, huge pics!
