Giorgia Borg – Malta’s Latest Star

Malta is developing another singer who seems to be destined for success. Giorgia Borg has achieved significant overnight popularity both in Malta and also the UK following a sublimely incredible performance on Britain’s Got Talent. Giorgia is just ten years of age!

We at Business or Pleasure were pleased to see that such young Maltese talent has left a panel of judges in awe, prompting one of them, Judge Alesha Dixon to openly express her support and push the Golden Buzzer. In this regard, she also impressed the other three judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, followed by an encouraging standing ovation of a large audience.

In this article, we discuss some of the things you may be interested to know about Giorgia Borg!

The song by Giorgia is quite of an original theme, revolving around the importance of parents listening to their children. The reason as to why this performance was a hit is due to the remarkable voice and meaningful lyrics. In addition to this, Giorgia really seemed to enjoy herself whilst giving the performance.

Contrary to what we are used to, Giorgia did not need the four yeses from the judges, as her idol, Alesha Dixon went on to press the Golden Buzzer and rushed on stage to embrace Giorgia. In this regard, her audition was uploaded on YouTube and in just twelve hours she managed to get a remarkable 1.6 million views.

Let’s not forget that this girl has achieved such recognition at just ten years of age! A remarkable feat I call it!  Even the Prime Minister tweeted about Giorgia’s success! Several foreign news sources including The Sun, The Mail on Sunday, Scotland On Sunday, The Sunday Mirror and Sunday Express covered her success.

Giorgia lives with her two mothers and three cats and two dogs. One of her mums goes on to emphasise her talent at singing by stating that she could sing by the time she was born back in 2008! She came third in the Junior Eurovision song contest last year and is under the wing of Gillian Attard whilst attending La Voix School of Performing Arts.

She also has a number of significant awards under her belt including first place at the Italian ‘Una Stella Sta Nascendo’ 2015 for ‘best junior talent’, and first place at the 2017 San Remo Junior Contest.

Let’s hope for another successful song artist who will make Malta proud in the years to come.
