Why do so many people Hate Juventus

Let me start this article by promising a ‘Why do many people hate Inter’ story ..
Ok now that we got that out of the way, breath in.
Juventus football club, commonly referred to as Juve is a popular Italian football club which has won the hearts of many football supporters worldwide. In Malta this is no different! You encounter such Juventus supporters everywhere, such as at the workplace and also on social media with their “fino alla fine” posts whenever their team wins. (lol)
Much success or whatever you may call it, makes Juventus definitely a top contender as one of the most hated teams in Malta, and most likely in Europe. In this article we discuss some of the reasons why Juventus is one of the clubs people enjoy seeing them fail, when they fail.
Refereeing Decisions
It is no secret that Juventus have enjoyed a number of 50/50 refereeing decisions going in their favour. Some of these have been instrumental for the team winning championships. Such a controversial decision which is still mentioned to this day is a penalty call when they faced Inter, involving a collision between Luliano and Ronaldo, and the penalty was never given against Juventus. This had repercussions on that year’s championship as this game they won gave them an additional boost to win that year’s championship.
Calciopoli
One of the worst football scandals which plagued the Italian football league for several years. This scandal uncovered a thick network of relations where team managers were accused of rigging games by hand picking selected referees. One of the main protagonists at the centre of this scandal? You guessed it! Juventus! One of the club’s Senior Managers, Luciano Moggi had several conversations with Italian football officials to influence referee selection. Following these revelations, Juventus were relegated to Serie B with a significant point deduction which was followed by a number of years with less meaningful silverware.
Taking Players from Rival Clubs
Have a look at some of their key players. You will notice that over the years, Juventus ‘stole’ some key players from their direct rivals. Take Pjanic who was taken from Roma and star striker Higuain who was bought in from Napoli. You will also notice that this strategy was also adopted in past years with the likes of Buffon who was bought from a strong Parma side and Cannavaro purchased from direct rivals Inter.
Cristiano Ronaldo
There is no denying that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most gifted footballers of the present age, who has graced the game with his insatiable ability. In terms of club competitions, Ronaldo has won it all, and even now that he is over his thirties, is still a force to be reckoned with. That said, he is still one of those football players that people love to hate. Joining one of the most hated football teams on the planet will definitely not help his profile with these people.
